I am not write. i cannot write. i am 15 years old, 16 years old, 17 years old. i am convinced of this. this is what i have learned most powerfully from my scholing. fear and a strong sense of inadequacy as a writer. i am good at grammar lessons and spelling. i am the tallest girl in the class and the end of the spelling bee i am still standing. victorius. but essays bewilder me. each time i am assigned an essay i panic. i read and reread, make notes and agonise. i have no idea what to write or how to get started. i find no help in advice that tells me to write a plan first and follow it . when teachers require me to submit the plan, i first write the essay and do the plan later. how else do i know what i am going to essay? but i feel this is cheating - further evidence of my failure to get it right. never does it occur to me there may be something wrong it teh advice.
i am overwhelmed by the pressure to get it right. i am a perfectionist and i know the pathetic whimpering that lands on my page for what it is,pathetic. and so inevitably i find my self starring in a scence which goes like this. the setting is the kitchen table. the paper is due the next day. it is getting later and later, and my mother is in the kitchen. she may be reading the paper or finishing the new york times crossword as she smokes. i sit at the table and start to cry. i don't know what to write. and so my mother, once a teacher herself, begins to ask me questions. what is the essay about ? what do i know about the topic ? well could i say...? and how about ...? her words are long gone but as she speaks i write her words down-as many as i can. later i fill in the gaps, make the links. and little by little the essay takes shape. i know that if i sit there long enough and cry long enough, she will write the essay for me and alleviate the fear that imprisons my words.
these many years later it's the gold-sprinkled formica table i remember, the hum of the dishwasher, and my mother's soft crooning, 'could you say this and that?' i came to believe my mother wrote my essays. i had no notion then of the legitimacy of collaborationor of scaffolding the writing of the less experienced. my first year at university, a five hour drive from my home, i read my george orwell's on shooting an elephant and was required to write a one - page essay. i stayed up all night. i cried and ate and submitted a pathetic effort to my tutor at my saturday 8:00 a.m class and failed. the torturred freshan failed her first essay. ever. confirmation that she cannot write without her mother.
were my mother alive she would smile at the irony of her daughter wrtig a book on teaching writing. the daughter who knew she could not write. my passion as a writing teacher finds its genesis in that failure - and in the help of those teachers who eventually showed me i could write.

Reading is a way to promote intelligence and thoroughness of a nation or
state, without reading our life seemed without direction .. In
accordance with the tradition "Life without knowledge is like a blind
man walking without a cane"
Reading does not have to read the book, but reading the situations and
circumstances that can also be called to read, not only that reading the
thoughts of others can be called to read.
In this day and age with IT teaching in season, meaning the science of technology. Everything is obtained with a variety of information that comes from the advanced technology. As with Prof. KH Ust. M. Google.M.Pd
/ M.Pd.i've listed and circulated a variety of information be it
positive or negative, but we as intelligent human beings should be able
to think critically.
The benefits of reading it is as follows:
1. Reading will improve your vocabulary.
2. Reading will improve concentration and focus .
3. Build confidence.
4. Improving memory.
5. Improving discipline.
6. Improve kretivitas.
7. Reduce boredom.
EXPLANATION:
- AS IS DRIVING IN NEED OF CONCENTRATION. It can be practiced by reading, reading any book could for example by reading novels, newspapers, magazines, educational books, comics and much more that you can still read.
- Be confident because we've got the science that we want and what we need. From not knowing to knowing. If someone asks us then we spontaneously without hesitation to answer.
- Reading can also be said as a reminder or memory of opening what has gone missing from the knowledge that we miliki.jadi we can review it again.
- AS IS CONTAINED IN ENGLISH vocabulary. This indicates the importance of vocabulary, as the saying goes little by little over time become hills. the more read the more we know.
- We can also use the context to read here as a reference for discipline in all things for example in terms of time discipline.
- Reading can also serve as an inspiration or idea that you can develop creatively as creatively as possible.
- Young people in this day and age must have or even always and can not be separated from the word Galau, actually said Galau not overly so important here. to get rid of things so we could use our time to read, work, write something useful.

Kota Mekah terletak kira-kira 70 km di pedalaman dari pelabuhan Laut Merah Jeddah. Ia dibina dalam berongga di pergunungan yang dikenali sebagai Batn Mekah. Bahagian tertua di bandar mengandungi Masjidil Haram dan Kaabah dan dikenali sebagai al-Batha. Hujan
adalah amat terhad dan tidak dapat diramalkan, pada zaman purba air
yang dibekalkan oleh satu siri telaga, yang paling penting yang baik
Zamzam dalam presint suci. Walaupun kegersangan kawasan
kedudukan di bandar ini menjadikan ia terdedah kepada kilat banjir yang
dialihkan oleh siri empangan dan saluran yang memesongkan air jauh dari
pusat bandar.

Sejarah
Pada zaman pra-Islam Mekah telah dikenali sebagai tapak suci dan telah dirujuk kepada sebagai Maccorba dalam zaman Ptolemy. Penempatan tetap pertama di laman web ini telah dibuat pada abad kelima CE oleh kaum Quraisy. Menjelang
abad keenam bandar nampaknya telah menjadi pusat perdagangan yang besar
keuntungan daripada perdagangan kafilah antara Mediterranean dan Lautan
Hindi. Pada tahun 570 Nabi Muhammad dilahirkan di Mekah,
menjelang tahun 610 beliau telah mula untuk mengajar mesej yang
diturunkan kepadanya sebagai Al-Quran.
Ajaran Muhammad marah pedagang terkemuka bandar supaya pada tahun 622 beliau telah dipaksa untuk meninggalkan kota Madinah. (Peristiwa
ini dikenali sebagai Hijrah atau migrasi dan adalah titik permulaan
bagi kalendar Islam.) Di Madinah Muhammad menarik berikut yang besar
yang mampu untuk menyerang kafilah Mekah. Dengan 630 Muhammad dan pengikut-pengikutnya (umat Islam) telah mengalahkan Mekah dan memeluk kebanyakan penduduknya Islam. Dalam
tahun-tahun berikutnya Madinah menjadi modal baru Islam negeri manakala
Mekah mengekalkan kedudukannya sebagai pusat keagamaan dan pusat haji.
Untuk
tempoh yang singkat antara 680 dan 692 Mekah menjadi modal khalifa
saingan yang ditubuhkan oleh Abd Allah Ibn Zubayr yang menguasai
kebanyakan Saudi dan Iraq. Dalam tempoh Abbasid sejumlah besar wang telah dibelanjakan untuk membangunkan bandar. Dalam
abad kesepuluh Penurunan khalifa dibenarkan Qarmathians (kumpulan
anti-establishment radikal) untuk memecat Mekah dan membawa Hajarulaswad
ke pangkalan mereka di Bahrain. Hajarulaswad kemudian pulang dan Mekah terus berkembang sebagai pusat keagamaan.
Dari
abad kesepuluh lewat untuk awal abad kesembilan belas Mekah diperintah
oleh sharif Mekah yang cuba untuk kekal bebas daripada kuasa dominan
masa. Pada tahun 1929, Mekah menjadi sebahagian daripada Kerajaan Arab Saudi.
Senibina
bangunan yang paling penting di Mekah Masjidil Haram Mekah yang
mengandungi Kabah, tinggi seperti kotak struktur yang berdiri di halaman
di pusat masjid. Kabah adalah pra-Islam dalam asal
walaupun pada permulaan tempoh Islam ia menjadi ditubuhkan sebagai objek
utama ziarah ke Mekah.
Kawasan sekitar Kabah mula tertutup oleh dinding pada 638 dalam usaha untuk mewujudkan ruang terbuka untuk tawaf (Tawaf). Dalam 646 kawasan telah diperbesarkan dengan dinding kandang baru dengan arked membuka ke halaman. Pada tahun 684 di bawah Abd Allah Ibn Zubayr masjid terus membesar dan dihiasi dengan hiasan marmar dan mozek. Dalam 709 khalifah Umayyah al-Walid meliputi arked masjid dengan bumbung jati berehat di atas tiang-tiang marmar. Pembesaran
selanjutnya dijalankan oleh khalifah Abbasiyah al-Mansur antara 754 dan
757, dan ia pada masa ini bahawa menara pertama telah dibina. Bagi
700 tahun akan datang banyak pengubahsuaian telah dijalankan walaupun
tanpa apa-apa perubahan besar kepada bentuk bangunan berlaku sehingga
tempoh Uthmaniyyah pada abad keenam belas. Penerangan terbaik zaman pertengahan masjid oleh Ibn Jubayr yang melawat tahun 1183. Beliau menerangkan arked berbumbung sekitar halaman di pusat yang dihiasi dengan merlons besar dan hiasan stuko.
Pengubahsuaian
utama telah dijalankan dalam tahun 1564 di bawah arahan Uthmaniyyah
Sultan Suleyman Magnificent yang menggantikan bumbung rata daripada
arked dengan kubah batu dan membina semula menara. Pembinaan
semula utama seterusnya berlaku dalam abad kedua puluh di bawah
pemerintahan Saudi dan dibuat Masjid Suci Mekah masjid terbesar di
dunia. Dalam bentuk sekarang masjid mempunyai tujuh menara,
arked dua tingkat sekitar halaman diperbesarkan dan jalan dilindungi
(Ma'sa) antara bukit al-Safa dan al-Marwa (1920-an).
Ciri-ciri lain di dalam Masjidil Haram termasuk telaga Zamzam dan Maqam Ibrahim. Menurut tradisi Islam telaga Zamzam membiak apabila Hajar (isteri Ibrahim) sedang mencari air untuk anaknya Ismail. Dalam abad kesembilan telaga telah dilindungi dengan bumbung berkubah oleh khalifah Abbasiyah al-Mu'tassim. Bentuk
bangunan telah berubah beberapa kali dalam abad yang berikut yang
paling berkekalan ialah yang dibina oleh Uthmaniyyah pada abad ketujuh
belas. Di samping fungsinya sebagai penutup baik Maqam Zamzam juga berfungsi sebagai asas untuk ahli-ahli teologi Shafi. Hanbali,
Hanafi dan ahli-ahli teologi Malaki setiap mempunyai Maqam mereka
sendiri di dalam halaman yang juga telah dibina semula pada masa ini. Dalam
tahun 1950-an semua ini maqams telah dikeluarkan oleh pihak berkuasa
Arab Saudi untuk membuat lebih banyak ruang untuk circumambulation Kabah
itu. Maqam Zamzam telah digantikan oleh dua wuduk bilik bawah tanah yang disuap oleh telaga Zamzam. Maqam Ibrahim mengandungi batu dengan dua tapak kaki yang dianggap menjadi orang-orang Ibrahim. Bangunan ini telah dipulihkan oleh pihak berkuasa Arab Saudi pada tahun 1950-an.
Dalam
bentuk sekarang Mekah adalah kebanyakannya sebuah bandar modem walaupun
ia tidak mengandungi beberapa rumah dari zaman Uthmaniyyah (abad
kelapan belas atau kemudian). Rumah tradisional Mekah
umumnya tinggi (3-4 tingkat) dengan mengunjurkan tingkap kayu
(mashrabiyya) dan bumbung rata yang tertutup oleh dinding 2 m tinggi. Haba
yang melampau bandar pada musim panas (50 darjah Celsius) bermakna
bahawa rumah-rumah dilengkapi dengan airshafts yang membenarkan udara
panas untuk melarikan diri. Kebanyakan rumah-rumah di Mekah
adalah dua tujuan, berkhidmat sebagai rumah keluarga dan sebagai asrama
jemaah semasa musim Haji. Bahan binaan utama yang digunakan di rumah Mekah adalah batu, bata dan kayu. Dua jenis batu yang digunakan, batu halus berpakaian dan runtuhan batu. Batu
berpakaian (batu pasir atau granit) digunakan untuk panel hiasan di
sekitar pintu dan tingkap yang sering menggabungkan kelebihan hiasan. Runtuhan
batu digunakan untuk menanggung beban dinding yang biasanya dua batu
luas dan diletakkan dalam kursus-kursus kasar mortar berasaskan lumpur. Secara
berkala (antara 50 dan 70 cm) terdapat lapisan kayu (biasanya sawit
atau bakau) yang meningkatkan kapasiti menanggung beban dinding. Tingkap diperbuat daripada kayu keras (biasanya jati) dan sangat dihiasi. Windows
mungkin sama ada panel rata dengan pembukaan dilindungi oleh skrin atau
menghuraikan struktur berehat di kurungan diukir. Bata digunakan di dinding yang sertakan teres atau taman-taman bumbung di atas setiap rumah. Bata tempatan dibuat dan dibentangkan di dalam corak hiasan yang meninggalkan lubang untuk pengudaraan.
